What is the product model?

The Product Operating Model is a set of principles, practices and techniques created by Marty Cagan and the Silicon Valley Product Group. I’ve been fortunate to be selected as one of the few coaches able to interact directly with them to promote and deploy the concepts I deeply and firmly believe in.

In addition, to being the result of decades of observation of how the most innovative product companies work, I applied the product model myself and created industry-changing products. This strong alignment between concepts and my experience in the field makes me a great change agent for organizations adopting the product model.

What does it really mean to transform to the product model?

Moving to the product model usually means changing more than you might imagine.  It’s not about the process but more about the people, the skills and how the work is organized. Many concepts may appear as operational details, but they are small, radical revolutions to implement.

What is different about working with me?

I uniquely blend real-world experience and concept expertise around the product model. I won’t reinvent the wheel and will stay true to the original principles, concepts, practices and techniques curated by Marty Cagan and SVPG, and I can fall back on them when needed.

I focus on enterprise and larger organizations with unique challenges and constraints. I developed unique tools and partnerships to coach at scale. I can implement transformation initiatives involving coaches in multiple cities, countries, and languages to deliver practical actions and have a local impact. Adopting the product model relies primarily on human factors. I ensure a product transformation never ends like an ineffective, process-centric, agile transformation.

How can I help, concretely?

Most of my transformation engagements involve evangelizing the product model to organizations at all levels, from executives to product teams; organization assessment and briefings; transformation planning and implementation; and coaching your own coaches or change agents so that you learn how to swim and can truly succeed in your product transformation.
